Glinta is designed as a local-first application. This means that 100% of your data is stored on your own computer within your browser's secure storage area. This includes:

• Extension settings.

3. How the Extension Works and Required Permissions

Glinta requires certain browser permissions to function correctly. Here’s why we need them and how they are used:

• storage: This permission is essential to save your captured items, collections, and settings directly on your local device.
• activeTab & scripting: These permissions are used to perform the core functions of the extension when you activate it. This includes capturing a visible area of the page, enabling the area selection tool, and retrieving the page title. The extension only runs on the active tab and only when you explicitly interact with it (by clicking the icon, using a shortcut, or the context menu).
• contextMenus: This allows us to provide you with convenient shortcuts, like "Quick Save" or "Save this image", when you right-click on a webpage or an image.
• host_permissions ("<all_urls>"): This permission sounds broad, but it is necessary for the scripting permission to work on any website you want to capture content from. Glinta does not automatically read or modify any website. It only acts on a page when you decide to use its features.

4. Data Security

Your data is as secure as your browser. We rely on the built-in security mechanisms of your web browser (like Google Chrome) to protect the locally stored data. If you uninstall the extension, all associated data stored by Glinta will be permanently deleted by the browser.

5. Third-Party Services

Glinta does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks.
